To mark the 20th anniversary of Otto Zykan’s death, the concerts are dedicated to this extraordinary interpreter of Arnold Schönberg’s music. In 1970, Zykan’s legendary recording of Schönberg’s complete piano works was released; it has now been reissued in an exemplary edition alongside his own compositions. Irene Suchy guides listeners through the works of these two fascinating composers, who, despite all their differences, share numerous common points of reference, and discusses them with Hartmut Krones.
