Lecture in German

Globalization is a fascinating and controversial phenomenon which has greatly contributed to cultural exchange and hybridization. It has undoubtedly had a strong impact on Schönberg’s music and ideas since the early 1900s. Drawing on recent global music history and theory studies, this talk explores international geographies and histories of twelve-tone music and how it crossed musical styles and genres on five continents in the last 100 years.

Cooperation with Center for Research on Arnold Schönberg and the Viennese School at the Department of Musicology and Performance Studies of the mdw – University of Music and Performing Arts Vienna
