Arnold SCHÖNBERG Begleitungsmusik zu einer Lichtspielscene op. 34 (Arr. Johannes Schöllhorn)

Rebecca Saunders is one of the most important voices in contemporary music. As a student of Wolfgang Rihm, she has developed a highly individual musical language that combines timbral sensitivity with dramatic tension and expansive soundscapes. Clement Power brings “a visible trace,” a key work in Saunders’ œuvre, into dialogue with Schönberg’s “Begleitungsmusik zu einer Lichtspielscene” [Accompaniment to a Cinematographic Scene], a cinematic fantasy for the concert hall.
