Arnold SCHÖNBERG Verklärte Nacht op. 4 (arr. Miha Ferk, Sabina Hasanova)
Lera AUERBACH Trio für Violine, Tenorsaxophon und Klavier
Alexander ZEMLINSKY Klaviertrio d-Moll op. 3

Tickets € 18 | Free admission for persons under 26 years

Originally composed for clarinet, cello and piano, the Trio, op. 3 is one of the earliest works by Arnold Schönberg’s friend and teacher Alexander Zemlinsky. Inspired by the musical language of Johannes Brahms, it was composed a few years before Schönberg’s string sextet “Verklärte Nacht,” op. 4, whose performance in this concert in an arrangement that includes a saxophone will lend the work a new perspective. The concert also includes the First Piano Trio by the Austrian-Russian composer Lera Auerbach, which was written soon after her arrival in New York, where she has lived since 1991.

The concert will be streamed live on facebook and YouTube and will be available for seven days afterwards.
