In German Romanticism, the foreign land stood for an inner distance from world events, but also for the loss of homeland and trust. For the art of the 20th century, exile meant a direct experience of foreignness, which continues to have an impact on the work of our contemporaries. The concert evening is dedicated to the phenomenon in all its complexity with composers and poets who had to experience foreignness in different ways.

The concert will be broadcast on October 28, 2021 at 7:30 pm in the program "Das Ö1 Konzert" on Ö1.
