Arnold SCHÖNBERG Fourth String Quartet op. 37, Presto für Streichquartett C-Dur
The Tchalik siblings have been musically active since early childhood. In 2013, they formed a string quartet with which they have since performed in concert halls and at festivals around the world. Their repertoire ranges from classical to contemporary music. They always have surprises in store as well: in this concert, they perform the little-known quartet by the Ukrainian composer Stefania Turkewich, who is said to have attended Schönberg’s master class in Berlin. From Schönberg’s oeuvre, they perform an early Presto as well as the late Opus 37, composed during his exile in America. A highlight of the concert is Beethoven’s monumental Opus 135, the composer’s last completed work.
5.30 pm: Curator’s tour with Therese Muxeneder through the exhibition “At home with Arnold Schönberg” | reservation required
The concert will be streamed live on YouTube and will be available for seven days afterwards.
