Arnold SCHÖNBERG Presto für Streichquartett C-Dur
Kurt SCHWERTSIK Adieu Satie op. 86
Fritz KREISLER Streichquartett in a-Moll
Johann STRAUSS Lagunenwalzer op. 411 (arr. Arnold Schönberg)

Tickets € 18 | Free admission for persons under 26 years

Fritz Kreisler became known as a composer primarily through his numerous violin pieces. Around 1920, he also composed a large-scale string quartet – an homage to his native city of Vienna. The quartet forms the focal point of a concert that alternates between seriousness, contemplation, and pure joy, from the dance-like works of Strauss and Schönberg to Schwertsik’s tongue-in-cheek pensiveness in his homage to Satie.

Cooperation Arnold Schönberg Center, ORF RSO Vienna and ORF RadioKulturhaus
As part of the chamber music series of the ORF RSO Vienna “Aus nächster Nähe”

The concert will be broadcast on radio Ö1 on November 18, 2025 at 10:05 am in the program “Das Ö1 Konzert”.
