“I never had a student who in this age was as promising as Miss Newlin.” Schönberg’s expectations were justified: the “Piano Trio” of the 25-year old composer demonstrates the presence of a strong and individual voice alongside the “Phantasy” of her teacher. In addition, two other works will be performed: Alban Berg’s Violin Concerto in an arrangement by Maxim Brilinsky, principal violinist of the Wiener Philharmoniker, and Thomas Wally’s “transfigurations” – both recently recorded on CD by the ensemble.
