Schönberg’s Six Little Piano Pieces, op. 19, which conclude with an epitaph on the death of Gustav Mahler, open the varied and moving program of this recital. Its focus is on Valentin Silvestrov, the most significant representative of contemporary Ukrainian music. His works range from the Triade from 1963, which builds on the sound of the Darmstadt avant-garde, and the soulful Kitsch Music from 1977, to the elegiac latest pieces for piano, including the ones composed during his escape from Kyiv to Berlin in 2022.

The concert will be streamed live on facebook and YouTube and will be available seven days after the concert.
