Arnold SCHÖNBERG Kammersymphonie op. 9 (arr.: Anton Webern)

Tickets € 14 | Free admission for persons under 26 years
Registration required

After he had completed his Chamber Symphony, op. 9, Schönberg was convinced that he had “found his own personal style of composing”. This epochal work is played in this concert in the arrangement for five instruments written by his pupil Anton Webern. The program also includes an expressive early work by Gustav Mahler, progenitor of the Viennese School. An emotionally charged quintet by Wolfram Wagner creates a marked contrast with miniatures by Gerald Resch.

Cooperation Arnold Schönberg Center, Vienna Radio Symphony Orchestra and RadioKulturhaus
As part of the chamber music series of the RSO Vienna “Aus nächster Nähe”

The concert will be broadcast on March 24, 2022 at 7.30 pm on the program "Das Ö1 Konzert".
