Eine kreuzförmige Bühnenaufstellung, Kreuzmotive, kreuzende und überlappende Linien, von Stille durchkreuzte Klangblöcke, geflüsterte Texte, Lichtdramaturgie und Videoprojektionen erschaffen einen Raum, der bekannte und neue Kompositionen intensiv zur Wahrnehmung bringt. »Die Kreuze« aus Schönbergs »Pierrot lunaire« op. 21 bildet zusammen mit Crumbs »Crucifixus« den Rahmen des Abends. Wie ein dunkler Leitfaden führt das Stück des amerikanischen Komponisten durch dieses besondere Konzert.
Cross-shaped staging, crosses as motifs, crossing and overlapping lines, blocks of sound intersected by silence, whispered texts, lighting dramaturgy and video projections create a space that spotlights the intense perception of both familiar and new compositions. “The Crosses” from Schönberg’s “Pierrot lunaire” op. 21 provides the framework for the program, together with Crumb’s “Crucifixus”. Like a somber guide, this piece by the US composer leads us through this exceptional concert.
