The music publishing firm of C.F. Peters, New York was founded in 1948 by Walter Hinrichsen. Walter was the son of Henri Hinrichsen, and the brother of Max Hinrichsen. Henri was the head of the publisher Peters, Leipzig (and then Frankfurt). Max founded Peters, London (formerly Hinrichsen Edition). The three firms are independant of each other. C.F. Peters published Schoenberg's Opp. 16, 47, Deutsche Volkslieder, and Volksliedsätze, and was the distributor for Op. 34.
