Hans Engelke--professor of music at Western Michigan University, in Kalamazoo. He received his doctorate from the University of Southern California. In the late 1940s he and his wife Betty performed Schoenberg's canon "Es ist zu dumm" at the Chicago Musical College, in cooperation with Rudolph Ganz. This collection concerns that performance.
