Arnold SCHÖNBERG Verklärte Nacht op. 4 (arr. Henk Guittart)
Olivier MESSIAEN Quatuor pour la fin du temps

Tickets € 14 | Free admission for persons under 26 years
Online reservation

A good forty years separate Messiaen’s “Quatuor pour la fin du temps” from Schönberg’s “Verklärte Nacht,” op. 4. Both works are milestones in their composers’ musical development, and both are characterized by a distinctive musical language that continues to captivate us today. While Schönberg’s tone poem focuses on individual suffering and redemption through love, Messiaen’s Quartet reflects the bitter experiences of war as well as maintaining hope through faith.

Cooperation Arnold Schönberg Center, Vienna Radio Symphony Orchestra and RadioKulturhaus
As part of the chamber music series of the RSO Vienna “Aus nächster Nähe”

The concert will be broadcast on October 12, 2023 at 7.30 p.m. on the program "Das Ö1 Konzert."
