University of Missouri (Kansas City)

Collection, 1943-1984: 1 folder (5 leaves)

In 1963, the University of Kansas City became the University of Missouri at Kansas City. Klaus Mann, the son of Thomas Mann and a sergeant in the United States Army, provided two leaves of Schoenberg music manuscripts for sale at a 1943 war bond auction. Shortly thereafter, most of the materials (minus the Schoenberg materials) purchased at this auction by W.T. Grant were donated by Grant to the Library of the University of Kansas City. The location of the two Schoenberg manuscript leaves is currently (1993) unknown.
