At the 9th openDOOR event organized by the city of Mödling, many private individuals, artists, companies, institutions, societies and public authorities allow access to their rooms, some of which are usually closed to visitors. Guided tours of Schönberg’s house will allow an insight into Schönberg’s former home in Mödling, often called the “birthplace of twelve-tone music” due to the method of composition that was developed there.
Kaori Nishii will play the Suite, op. 25, which was the first twelve-tone composition completed in Mödling in 1923, on Schönberg’s Ibach grand piano.

Culture – open for everybody!

An initiative of the municipality of Mödling in cooperation with Arnold Schönberg Center
